There’s now a YouTube app for Android Wear, because who cares about battery life?

Android Wear YouTube
Catching YouTube on your smartwatch would probably be the worst video experience ever, but at least now you can. Developer Appfour’s latest creation is a YouTube player for Android Wear that includes search and Chromecast support. It’s actually not the worst idea in the world. Video for Android Wear&YouTube (sic) lets you look up videos using your voice and can then beam it to your Chromecast-equipped TV, so your watch could double up as a remote control on your wrist. If you’re the sort who’s fine watching videos on a tiny screen, you’ll also appreciate the app’s support for Bluetooth headphones. I’d…

Beet for iOS is a refreshingly strong rival for Snapchat

Screen Shot 2015-07-02 at 14.44.45
Beet is a social video app for iOS that lets you take quick videos you can share in the form of Stories. And no, it’s not the same as Snapchat. The app’s founders have a very different goal – to help people regain online spontaneity by telling the stories of their life through quick and emotive, montage-style video clips. Each video can only be six seconds long and you can add as many clips to it as you can fit. Your profile displays all of your moments (unless you’ve deleted them) in circular icons and any new Stories you create are displayed…

Citymapper for iOS adds a smart assistant, realtime ETA sharing and new cities

DSCF7928
We’re fans of Citymapper, the realtime public transport app for iOS, Android and the Web. Its latest update for iOS brings its smart assistant GO to the platform (it debuted on Android back in May) and adds a cluster of new features as well as new cities. GO button, go! The developers describe GO as “a realtime copilot for your journeys.” In practice that means it figures out a new route for you in realtime if you decide to walk to the next stop, wait for the next departure or go off track somehow. If you switch on notifications, Citymapper will…

So hot right now? Get your weather reports with appropriate Kim Kardashian outfits

KimGuru
Here’s a way to combine two things that people talk about way too much: The weather and the Kardashians. Kim.Guru is a Web app that gives you the current conditions anywhere in the world matched with an appropriate Kim Kardashian outfit. Why? Because New York media agency BRAVÒ needed a way to promote itself and nothing says feverish clicks like a Kardashian reference. The site offers up one of 100 different outfits depending on the weather conditions in your chosen locale. I’m in Dublin right now and Kim.Guru tells me the lady herself would be wearing a natty jumpsuit to deal with…
