Microsoft’s Send messaging app is now available on Android

Screen Shot 2015-09-16 at 18.44.23
Microsoft has released its Send app for Android today, after originally making it only available to iOS users. Send is a new take on emails that removes the subject line and signatures and takes you straight to your contacts list. It basically turns your emails into WhatsApp-style conversations. Another neat update has been the addition of GIF support, so now Send users can spam each other in the most efficient way possible. Send is currently only an option for Office 365 users with business and education accounts, however, so no using it with your personal account for now. ➤ Send [Android]

First off, Split View support means you can have OneNote open next to another app, which should make it easy to take notes while reading an article or watching a video. Windows users may be yawning as they’ve been able to do this for a long time, but it’s a useful addition nonetheless. More unique is…

48,000 word iOS 9 reviews? Tech journalism has lost its mind

ezgif.com-add-text
iOS 9 is out today. Here’s our review. Its 3,093 words that tell you what you need to know and why. Here’s MacStories’ review, it’s… 48,000 words long. Yes, MacStories is excellent, but does it need nearly 50,000 words to talk about a software update? The answer is ‘no.’ There is no sane answer other than ‘no.’ The U.S. Constitution weighs in at 4,543 words. Magna Carta got the job done with 500. The 10 commandments tapped out at 297. This piece (including this line, the number that follows and the headline)? 105.

This cool tool lets you find out which ‘secret’ hotel you’re booking at a discount

paste_url
The great thing about last minute hotel booking sites and discount platforms like Lastminute, Hotwire and Expedia is that you can get rock-bottom prices for hotels with good reputations. The only problem is that you have to leave the booking somewhat to fate — great deals often require that you book with “unpublished” or “secret” hotels that you won’t know until you book it. If you’re iffy on booking a mystery hotel but can’t say no to the price, Whatthehotel promises to offer you the ability to peek at what you’re getting before you book. The tool, which is currently in beta,…
