Skype’s Qik messenger, a tiny app for sending quick video messages, today received an update that lets you easily share your videos outside the app. The update adds a new share menu that lets you use the phone’s built-in share screen to send your videos to whatever service you want, without needing to save them to your phone. Uber has been in all kinds of trouble in India in the past year, but the company is looking to change that. It introduced enhanced background checks for drivers a few days ago and has now added two new safety features for passengers. A new SOS button lets passengers taking a trip immediately contact local police. Users will need to tap the button and confirm the call. Yelp gets into the delivery business with Eat24 acquisition

Yelp is about to get a bit more useful. The app and site you check before you eat anywhere new just announced that it has acquired food delivery service Eat24. Announced today, Yelp wants to expand Eat24 to work with the one million Yelp restaurants listed on the service. Facebook brings Internet.org app to India

Just three weeks after launching its Internet.org Android app in Ghana, Facebook is bringing the free app to India with nearly 40 services in tow. Facebook has partnered with mobile operator Reliance Communications in India to make the app available in six states: Tamil Nadu, Mahararashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Kerala, and Telangana. You’re about to see Twitter’s promoted tweets in some new places

Twitter has announced that it’s experimenting with delivering Promoted Tweet ads beyond its own services. It’s starting the experiment by bringing them to Flipboard and Yahoo Japan. In a post on its Advertising Blog, the company points out that tweets already “flow from Twitter to other mediums seamlessly.” The obvious conclusion is: why not do the same with ads? It uses the example of Nissan running a Promoted Tweet campaign on Twitter, then reusing the same creative on Flipboard.
