Financial software maker Intuit is closing down Docstoc, the document sharing platform it acquired in 2013. According to VentureBeat, the death of Docstoc is a result of Intuit’s decision “to discontinue these products.” The site is urging users to export their files before December 1. However, the team said it plans to continue to support existing customers, but won’t allow new registrations. In its lifetime, Docstoc faced competition from services like Scribd and LinkedIn’s Slideshare. In addition to hosting users’ private files, it also made resources like business plan templates, sample lease agreements and sponsorship proposals available to the public.…
